Meet Monica Veley!
Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: Green Bay–Go Pack Go!
Q: How many kids do you have?
A: Three.
Q: What are their ages?
A: Reidar is 8, Trinity is 7, and Roar is 4.
Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where & what do you do?
A: I do! I am the CEO of Bug-a-Boo Lice Treatment, LLC located in Green Bay, and I also fulfill my creative passions working part-time at Sei Bella salon as a hairstylist!!
Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: Well, I’m sure my kids would tell you my favorite activity with them is snuggling, but my favorite thing to do with them is try new foods! We like to pick out a weird new veggie or fruit or fish when we go to the store. We have discovered that shark, mussels, and tuna are delicious, and so are purple cauliflower and uglifruit, but they don’t love dragonfruit or pomegranate.
Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: In the summer we practically live at the local free wading pool!
Q: If you had one parenting tip to share that has worked for you/helped you, what would it be?
A: My best tip for other parents is this: Remember that whole “it takes a village to raise a child” thing. Please, please, please be a positive member of another mommy’s village. We are all on the same team, and this gets really hard, and sometimes it would just be nice for another adult to lift you up.
Q: What do you like to do when you have time for yourself?
A: I LOVE crafting–crocheting and chalk painting furniture are two of my fave outlets.
Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a mom)?
A: My personality wants to be a night owl, but I am trying to grow up and be an early bird in order to have time for reading my Bible, prayer and getting the day in order before the kids get up.
Q: What is something people may not know about you?
A: I have a Pollyanna personality, always finding a positive spin on things. This has definitely helped me reach out for the next thing in life–most recently the Bug-a-Boo Lice Treatment business. I mean, WHO in their right mind would WANT to pick lice for a living???? The answer is ME! I realized I can be part of the solution, helping other mommies!!!
On that note, stay tuned later this week for a more detailed blog about Monica’s new Bug-a-Boo business…we are going to talk openly about a subject no one wants to talk about: LICE!!
Thanks for sharing with us, Monica! Please check back next week to meet another area mom.
(P.S. Let’s go mommy is always in need of more submissions from moms or dads, so please contact me if you are interested and willing to be featured at lindy@letsgomommy.com. It’s super easy!)
