Free Summer Lunches for Kids in Green Bay 2017

This summer all kids ages 1-18 can get a FREE, healthy box lunch at Green Bay’s Central or Southwest Libraries, at one of 32 Green Bay parks or at Optimist Park in De Pere from June 14-August 18!  The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, provides nutritious meals to children during the summer, when free and reduced-price school meals are typically unavailable. This program fills a void when school lunches are not available and helps parents meet the nutritional needs of their children.

Library lunches will be available from 11:15-11:30 AM Monday thru Friday, June 14-August 12 at the Central & Southwest Libraries. Many times there are special story times before or after lunch, so be sure to check those out as well. Lunches must be eaten at the library during the lunch program. Adult lunches are available for purchase for $2 each. No lunches will be served on July 4 or August 1.

In addition to the libraries, park lunches will also be available at various times between 11AM and 1:30PM Monday thru Friday, beginning Wednesday, June 14, at 32 Green Bay parks. At Optimist Park in De Pere (800 Cook St), kids can get a free lunch between 12:10-12:30 PM (June 14-30) or 11:30-11:50 AM (July 5-August 18). All lunches must be consumed on-site. Adult lunches will not be available for purchase at Optimist Park. A free afternoon snack will also be available for kids ages 1-18 at 2PM. No lunches/snacks will be served on July 3rd or 4th. A menu will be posted on-site at Optimist Park in early June.

Lunches are for ALL kids regardless of gender, race and economic status and no paperwork is necessary to participate. Times and park locations are subject to change. Call 920-448-5846 for any questions or details about the library lunch program.
