Monday Moms in Green Bay

Meet today’s Monday Mom: Diane Ginnow

Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: We live in Ashwaubenon.

Q: How many kids do you have?
A: Three.

Q: What are their ages?
A: A 5 year-old boy, 2 year old girl and 9-month old girl.

Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where/what do you do?
A: I run an in-home daycare.

Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: Anything outside in our backyard being active.

Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: This is a REALLY tough question, however, I would have to say Titletown.

Q: What is one parenting tip you would like to share with others?
A: My biggest challenge has been setting boundaries for myself and my family. I often want to try to “do it all”, but I have been really working on limiting what we do, so that we are not too exhausted, cranky, and impatient with each other. Still working on this every day, but I have learned when I take the time to slow down and take care of ME, I am a better mom because of that.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you have time for yourself?
A: I enjoy cooking, so lucky for my family that means I cook often for them! I also enjoy spending time with my three sisters and my mom and playing board games with them (which is hard to find time for with all the children in our families!).

Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you may have to be as a mom)?
A: I love mornings, so early bird for sure!

Q: Share a funny quote from one of your kids.
A: Recently, while disciplining my oldest son (probably telling him he lost the privilege to have a treat after dinner), he replied “Mom, you will probably forget that”.

Thanks for sharing with us, Diane!

A special note about Diane–she is one of let’s go mommy’s Volunteer Playdate Coordinators! That means you will probably see her/have a chance to meet her at the monthly let’s go mommy playdates if you attend. She may be handling the sign-in sheets or running around with her littles and greeting people. She (along with another volunteer) have been a HUGE help to me in planning, coordinating and attending the playdates!! FYI–the next playdate is coming up on Monday, 10/10 from 9-11AM at Fusion Athletics.

We’re always looking for more Monday Mom submissions. Help us keep featuring new area moms by filling out the Monday Mom survey on the let’s go mommy website. You can find the link here. Or, if you would like to be featured, you can also email me at lindy@letsgomommy.com.
