Monday Morning Moms in Green Bay

My goal is to make let’s go mommy the daily go-to resource for kids’ events in the Green Bay area for moms, parents and caregivers. And in 2016 I’m planning to continue adding new features to let’s go mommy to make it an even more valuable resource for everyone. In addition to comprehensive listings of kids’ events in the Green Bay area, there will be more guides and more Facebook contests. I also want to add an element of fun to get a glimpse into the lives of fellow moms and make it more of a community. One way I plan to do this is with a weekly blog that I will post on Monday’s featuring local moms in the Green Bay area called Monday Morning Moms.

I am being the first Monday Morning Mom to get the ball rolling. I’m hoping I can get some volunteers for future features. If you are interested in being featured, please let me know! It will be a great opportunity to introduce yourself and even get some free PR if you have a business or etc you would like to tell other moms about. Just private message me on FB or email me at lindy@letsgomommy.com.

Hi–I’m Lindy Bethke

Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: I live in De Pere (west-sider)

Q: How many kids do you have?
A: Three daughters

Q: What are their ages?
A: Ages 4, 7 & 9

Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where/what do you do?
A: I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for almost 7 years. I launched the let’s go mommy website in May of 2015. Prior to staying home I worked in marketing & advertising.

Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: Reading or going on family walks/bike rides.

Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary…it’s a special place to me as it was one of the first places I discovered to take my girls in Green Bay.

Q: If you had one parenting tip to share with others that has worked for you/helped you, what would it be?
A: I can’t say I follow through on this all the time, but I try and when I do I really think it works: reality discipline. Letting your kids deal with the natural consequences of their choices. These can be big or small, but it helps them learn to make better decisions on their own without parents constantly reminding, warning and telling them to. I read two books that explain this parenting style: Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours by Dr. Kevin Leman and Parenting with Love & Logic by Foster Cline & Jim Fay. Both books were very helpful to my husband and I.

Q: What is your favorite hobby when you have time for yourself?
A: Exercising

Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a mom)?
A: NIGHT OWL!!

Share a funny quote from one of your kids.
One morning when everyone was getting ready for school my daughter said “We could use another mom around here in the mornings.” (In reference to how incoherent I am in the mornings…)

Enough about me…check in again next Monday to meet another area mom!!
