Meet Sara Lang!
Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: West DePere
Q: How many kids do you have?
A: 2 girls
Q: What are their ages?
A: Kenley is almost 5 and Cora will be 3 in June.
Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where & what do you do?
A: I teach 3rd grade at Hemlock Creek. This is my eighth year teaching in WDP and ninth overall. I taught one year of Kindergarten at a charter school in Pennsylvania.
Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: At home, we love to do art, read books and play games. We are so excited for the weather to warm up so we can get back outside more often!
Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: We enjoy The CityDeck downtown! We love to pack a lunch, walk around and people watch. We also like to attend concerts there in the summer. My second favorite place would be the Wildlife Sanctuary–I love that it is free! During the summer we like to head there early in the morning to beat the crowd.
Q: What has been your biggest challenge in parenting thus far?
A: My biggest challenge in parenting so far is trying to figure out the balance of being the Mom I want to be while juggling all of the other demands on my time. I’ve also struggled with comparing my family to other families.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do for yourself when you have time?
A: I love to shop! Also, I have been on a fitness mission this past year and so I can now consider exercise–especially running–a hobby of mine.
Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a mom)?
A: I am a total night owl! My kids have early bedtimes so I enjoy the chunk of hours in the evening to myself. I so wish I could wake up early, but I just hit the snooze too many times.
Q: Share a funny quote from one of your kids.
K: “Mom, I had a retiring day today.”
M: “What does that mean honey?”
K: “That I have to go to bed early tonight!”
Thanks for sharing with us, Sara. Check back next week to meet another area mom!
