Meet Sarah Fiel!
Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: I live in the sweet little town of Sobieski.
Q: How many kids do you have?
A: My life is full with 3 energy-filled munchkins.
Q: What are their ages?
A: 9, 7 & 5
Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where & what do you do?
A: I have dual-careers outside the home. I’ve been a Dental Hygienist for over 11 years and am still loving it! I currently work for a small local dental office part-time. I’m also the owner (and jack-of-all-trades) for my own local small business: With Love {Handmade}. Over the past few years I’ve researched and formulated chemical-free bath and body, face care, and lifestyle (think natural deodorant and toothpaste!) lines made with all-natural and organic ingredients. Feel free to check it out at withlovehandmade.com and send me a message saying you stopped by!
Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: I homeschool my littles, so almost everything I do at home is with my kiddos. I really enjoy learning right alongside of them. Outside of day-to-day activities, I’d have to say our favorite activity is baking. They all love creating desserts and watching them lick beaters and batter bowls brings back childhood memories of when I baked with my mom.
Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: I have two favorites and I don’t think I can choose between them! For winter and rainy days my go-to spot is always Hello Lemon Studio in De Pere. It’s a super kid-friendly spot filled with craft projects galore. My kids never get bored with the always-changing projects and it’s totally affordable, even with three kids! When the weather is cooperating I love Barkhausen. It’s free, beautiful, full of adventures, and an amazing spot to let the kids run off their endless energy.
Q: If you had one parenting tip to share that has worked for you/helped you, what would it be?
A: My parenting tip would have to be find ways to say YES! As moms we tend to say no more often to the requests of our little ones, but finding ways to say yes makes life a little more spontaneous and often leads to memory making moments! Whether it’s “just one more” book at bedtime, putting off laundry so you can play a few rounds of UNO, or eating dessert before dinner on occasion…the joy that happens with a yes is worth letting the dishes wait until morning.
Q: What do you like to do when you have time for yourself?
A: I’ve recently taken up sewing and I fell in love with it after my first project. I’ve only made a few things so far, but I have many more projects in the works. I have officially become a fabric store addict! I’m also trying to re-teach myself piano. I took years of piano lessons as a kid, but quit playing a long time ago and now I completely regret that! YouTube and old lesson books have come to my rescue and I’m slowly picking it all back up again.
Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a mom)?
A: I’m definitely more productive at night than in early morning hours and my business office is in my home so I tend to work while the kids are in bed at night. I actually hate coffee, so maybe that’s why I also don’t like mornings. 🙂
Q: What is something not many people know about you?
A: I’m a quote junkie. My Pinterest board and phone are full of inspirational and empowering quotes. I am always saving them places to inspire my days–sticky notes in my office, screen savers on my phone and computer, and I’ve even made chalkboards in my house just for quotes. Sometimes they bring back memories, sometimes they make me think of someone special, and sometimes they just speak to a part of my life. I’m just a sucker for a good quote and I’d love to hear your favorites!
