Again this summer all kids ages 1-18 can get a FREE, healthy lunch at Green Bay’s Central and Southwest Libraries, The Wildlife Sanctuary, at one of 36 Green Bay parks, Optimist Park in De Pere, Fort Howard Park in Ashwaubenon or at 20 schools in the Green Bay area! Most free summer lunch programs will begin June 13th, but you can find specific dates below. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, provides nutritious meals to children during the summer, when free and reduced-price school meals are typically unavailable. This program fills a void when school lunches are not available and helps parents meet the nutritional needs of their children.
Lunches will be available from 11:15-11:30 AM Monday thru Friday at Central library and from 11:10-11:20 AM Monday thru Friday at Southwest library from June 13th through August 17th. Many times there are special story times before or after lunch, so be sure to check those out as well. Lunches must be eaten at the library during the lunch program. Adult lunches are available for purchase for $3 each. No lunches will be served on July 4th.
Lunches will also be available at the Wildlife Sanctuary from 11:50-12:10 Monday thru Friday from June 13th through August 17th. No lunches served on July 4th.
