Meet today’s Monday Mom: Shine Burg.
Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: I live in De Pere, in the Altmayer elementary school area.
Q: How many kids do you have?
A: One super-amazing son.
Q: What are their ages?
A: He is 7 years old.
Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where/what do you do?
A: Yes. I deliver mail for De Pere in the Hemlock Creek elementary area.
Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: Baking brownies, cookies or cake with my son.
Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: My favorite place to go with my son is a tie between the Wildlife Sanctuary where we can donate our money to feed the geese and the N.E.W. Zoo where we can donate our money to feed the giraffes/goats.
Q: What is one parenting tip you would like to share with others?
A: My one parenting tip is I think of my kid as having a battery like my phone that needs to be charged everyday. As the day gets later, his battery might be at 10%, so I need to give him extra time/patience with tasks in the evening.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you have time for yourself?
A: My favorite hobby when I have time for myself is a tie between gardening and bird watching.
Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a mom)?
A: Early bird.
Q: What is your “story” that you would like to share with other moms to motivate/encourage/inspire or help them?
A: My motivational story is it is I had to wait until I was 41 years old for the stars to align for me to meet my son and he means the world to me! Next year I will be 50 and he will be 9 years old. My goal is to make the most of every single minute I am blessed to know him!
