Monday Morning Dad in Green Bay

Meet Mike Bethke! (the daddy behind let’s go mommy)

Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: De Pere

Q: How many kids do you have?
A: Three girls.

Q: What are their ages?
A: 5, 7 & 9

Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where & what do you do?
A: Yes. I am a packaging engineer at Schreiber Foods.

Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: Playing sports outside–basketball, softball, soccer and kickball. I also enjoy going on bike rides with my girls.

Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: My wife (Lindy) is the one who always likes to be going places and doing things with the kids and I prefer staying home with them. My favorite place would probably be Sand Acres Park…it’s close to home and I take the girls there quite a bit.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge as a parent?
A: My biggest challenge seems to be finding enough time to do all the things/spend the time I want to with each of the girls. There isn’t a lot of time to spend with them after work and before they have to go to bed and then to balance that time with all three of them and work on certain things with each of them can be tough. Most times we all play together, which is fine, but I want to help them with certain things one-on-one and don’t get a chance to as often as I would like.

Q: What do you like to do when you have time for yourself?
A: I enjoy weight-lifting, tinkering in the garage, yard work, washing/waxing cars and deer hunting.

Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a parent)?
A: I guess I would say Lindy has converted me to being a night owl…I stay up pretty late most nights since she is up late, but once upon a time I was an early bird.

(P.S. Let’s go mommy is in need of more submissions from moms or dads, so please contact me if you are interested and willing to be featured at lindy@letsgomommy.com. It’s super easy!)

  1. It must be hard to balance your life with three daughters. I agree with your point that spending one-on-one time with each one must be very hard. It sounds like you’re doing a great job though.
