Monday Morning Moms in Green Bay

Meet Andrea Schad!

Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: Green Bay

Q: How many kids do you have?
A: Four–two girls & two boys

Q: What are their ages?
A: 5, 3 and 1-year old twins

Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where & what do you do?
A: No

Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: We like to play outside a lot and bake when we have an extra helper around to make it happen. With our littles underfoot, cooking and baking require more patience and energy. Once in a while we are motivated to make something yummy together, other than breakfast, lunch and dinner. 😉 Banana Bread is always an accomplishment.

Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: We like to explore all the different parks and splash pads in the summer. We also like to hike around Baird’s Creek and go biking on the East River Trail.

Q: If you had one parenting tip to share that has worked for you/helped you, what would it be?
A: Sometimes I have to take life moment by moment, day by day. We can’t be perfect moms, even if we want to be. Stop comparing yourself to other moms, who have different situations, each unique and special. There is no one like you and your family. I have had to train myself to be thankful for all the hard work and sacrifice it is to care for my husband and family on a daily basis. Also, we choose our attitude and the tone for our home. When I can choose a positive attitude amidst the craziness of meltdowns, mountains of laundry and dirty dishes, my kids will see that, and hopefully follow suit.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do for yourself when you have time?
A: I like to go shopping and do little decorating or food projects for fun. I also like to have real conversations with people.

Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a mom)?
A: Hmm, I would say I am more of a night owl, only because I need some adult time after my kids go to bed! But, I definitely think more clearly in the morning. 🙂

Q: What is something not many people know about you?
A: When we found out we were having twins, I was overcome with shock, but also with pure joy. We took that joy and shared it with our friends and family and named our daughter Liliana Joy, for the joy that we felt when we found out we were having her and her brother. We are so thankful for the surprise blessing God has given us and love how their little smiles, laughter and energy give so much to so many in our lives.

Thanks for sharing with us, Andrea. Check back on another Monday (hopefully next week) to meet another area mom!
