Monday Mom

Monday Morning Moms in Green Bay

Meet Marcie Schoen!

Q: What town/city do you live in?
A:  Village of Bellevue

Q: How many kids do you have?
A:  Two

Q: What are their ages?
A:  4.5 year old Adeline and 2 year old Emerson

Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where & what do you do?
A:  I work at Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group as an Assistant Manager. I’ve worked in the real estate industry for 11 years and enjoy working with everyone (from the realtor to the buyer/seller) to help facilitate a home sale.

Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A.  Reading stories and playing games.

Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A:  So many choices–Wildlife Sanctuary, Bay Beach and the library.

Q: If you had one parenting tip to share that has worked for you/helped you, what would it be?
A:  Something my boss told me when I got back from maternity leave: “Catch them being good”. That has stuck with me and I try very hard to praise.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do for yourself when you have time?
A:  I have 2 hobbies–I bake cookies and decorate them professionally and I play saxophone with the Allouez Village Band.

Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a mom)?
A:  Early Bird all the way. I’d be happy to go to bed at 8pm every night and be up and at it by 4am, but ya know, KIDS…and my house would never have a clean dish again if I went to bed that early. Ha!

Q: Share a funny quote from one of your kids.
A:  A cute thing my 2 year old son says is ‘Bubba-Fry’ for Butterfly. I think it’s adorable. My 4.5 year old cries almost daily because she can’t trade places with a cartoon duck and be in a TV show and the duck be her in real life…..haha! 🙂 Try to reason with her on that one!

Q: What is your most embarrassing moment or the funniest thing that has ever happened to you?
A:  Probably not my most embarrassing, but it’s the one that comes to mind right now. About a year ago, I was working out at a gym that only does classes. I loved going there and this day I was about 5 minutes late to the class. As I walked into the class I was swinging my water bottle and it flew out of my hands, landed right smack in front of the trainer and splashed him with water and soaked the floor. So that was kind of embarrassing, but it just got worse. Later during the class, I knocked over someone else’s water bottle, and then finally, during a sit-ups exercise, I accidentally let out a very loud, juicy, ‘puff of air’. At that point I started to laugh because I just needed to get out of there!!

Thanks for sharing with us, Marcie! Check back another Monday to meet another area mom!
