Monday Morning Moms in Green Bay

Meet Lisa Palmer!

Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: Ashwaubenon

Q: How many kids do you have?
A: Three–one daughter and two sons.

Q: What are their ages?
A:  Ivy is 7, Isaac is 5 and Quinlan is 2.

Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where & what do you do?
A: Yes. I am currently a bra fitter with Peach, a bras and luxury basics direct sales company. I have been passionate about helping women embrace their own unique beauty through bra fitting for over 15 years (even though I haven’t been actively selling bras that whole time). After being a Marshall Field’s fitter in my 20’s, I had a dream of owning my own bra boutique. Then marriage and children came, putting that dream on hold. Now I am 39, but not a day has passed that I haven’t thought about owning a shop. So Peach is my foray back into bra selling–one that fits with being a stay-at-home mom. Peach is an innovative company; they have a patented 10-point measurement system for a perfect bra fit. Their mission, much like my own, is for women to feel beautiful and confident in their own skin. I do in-person as well as modest virtual fittings…which both me and my clients LOVE…late night or afternoon without leaving home 🙂 If you’re interested, find out more on the Peach website at www.peachbeautiful.com.

Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: Snuggling up to read can’t be beat. Other than that, my daughter (7) is the activity director more than me. She sets her brothers up with crafts daily, as well as roles to play as daddy, brother or baby. Because my children naturally keep themselves occupied with arts and crafts, I tend to be in the background, letting them be free to interact together over such things. Watching them bond and listening to their conversations gives me greater joy than actually doing the activities with them (though sometimes I get suckered in LOL).

Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: Hard to narrow it down since there are SO many awesome places in Green Bay, but right now I have to say Wildlife Sanctuary.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge in parenting thus far?
A: My biggest parenting challenge is that because I am so laid back and lax I have no idea how to enforce chores. I grew up in a pretty cluttered house and I am constantly striving to give my children a different experience. But I realize that the order and discipline that was lacking in my home growing up makes me clueless on how to bring it into my home. I have had friends give me great tips that have helped, but I know its mostly on me to change my habits, and that is just not easy! If my husband and I can’t model the habits, I’m not sure I can teach them. At this rate, I think I’ll just apologize in advance to their future roommates and spouses.

Q: What do you like to do when you have time for yourself?
A: Time for myself, time for myself . . . someday I will sew again. 🙂

Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a mom)?
A: Night owl. My biological bedtime is 11PM. If happen to fall asleep before that, I get goofed up and am up from roughly 2-4:30AM. (Find me on Facebook during those hours, LOL)

Q: Share a funny quote from one of your kids.
One of my favorite latest funny quotes from my kids: Isaac, age 5, out of nowhere said to me, “Remember? We’d have no place to live…if we had no bodies.” ( Jack Handey, anyone?) Truth is, I LOVE the insight in this one, as I truly believe we are made up of more than just our bodies.

Thanks for sharing with us, Lisa! Please check back next week to meet another area mom.

(P.S. Let’s go mommy is always in need of more submissions from moms or dads, so please contact me if you are interested and willing to be featured at lindy@letsgomommy.com. It’s super easy!)[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
