Meet Leah Hribal Van Horn!
Q: What town/city do you live in?
A: Oshkosh (lived in GB when attended UWGB)
Q: How many kids do you have?
A: One with another one on the way next week!
Q: What are their ages?
A: 5-year old son and soon-t0-be newborn baby girl.
Q: Do you work outside the home? If so, where & what do you do?
A: Yes. I’m a Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty and I absolutely love what I do!
Q: What is your favorite at-home activity to do with your kids?
A: Cooking, baking and enjoying a meal together. Most of all, I love snuggling to watch a movie as a family.
Q: Where is your favorite place around Green Bay to take your kids?
A: Bay Beach–I loved going there as a child and love seeing my son love it, too.
Q: If you had one parenting tip to share that has worked for you/helped you, what would it be? ?
A: I think it has helped that my husband and I are on the same page most of the time when it comes to our parenting style. We both try to catch a negative behavior right away and correct it. Tiring, yes, but so worth it. Also, the grandparents are on board with this, too, so that helps a lot. So I would say consistency & everyone being on the same page is very helpful.
Q: What do you like to do when you have time for yourself?
A: Honestly, usually when I get time to myself I tend to rest–sad, but true–I just try to relax and not do too much.
Q: Are you a night owl or an early bird (despite what you have to be as a mom)?
A: I was a night owl before children…but not really either at the moment. I try to go to bed an hour after my son does so I’m up when he wants to wake up.
Q: What is something not many people know about you?
A: My children are named in some form after a “Gone With the Wind” character, as it is my favorite movie & book. My son is Evrhett (I intended to name him Rhett, but my husband didn’t like it, so we changed the spelling and compromised); I planned to call him Rhett for short but we never do…we just call him E for short. Our daughter’s name is going to be Morgan Blue after Bonnie Blue Butler.
Thanks for sharing with us, Leah! Please check back next week to meet another area mom.
(P.S. Let’s go mommy is always in need of more submissions from moms or dads, so please contact me if you are interested and willing to be featured at lindy@letsgomommy.com. It’s super easy!)
